Social programme

The first day of the conference is Labor Day in the US (Monday 5th Sep 2022) and will therefore have a focus on social interaction and braking the ice. Accordingly, a hike is being organised for the Monday that will provide participants with a range of options from a short stroll to a long walk in the Californian countryside. The excursion can be selected on the conference online registration form. The social programme includes the following elements and further details will be provided in due course:

  • Labor Day hike/excursion (if joining, please select when registering online);
  • Conference dinner (if joining, please select when registering online);
  • Public evening talk;
  • Visits to local bars and eateries.

Invited speakers have accommodation organised for them at the Stanford Guest House (2575 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025). Rooms for Invited speakers are reserved for the nights of 4-9 September inclusive (six nights) and will be paid for by the conference.

For participants, the conference has organised a Group Booking Code with the Stanford Guest House. Rooms are available on a first-come first-served basis and have a guide price of $184 per night. Participants will receive the group booking code by email once registered for the conference and will need to then organise their accommodation booking with the Stanford Guest House. Participants are also welcome to make alternative accommodation arrangements; see our suggestions below.
